Make an indelible impact as a 1:1 Elementary Special Education Teacher in a welcoming, collaborative school environment near Mountain View, CA. This full-time contract position (30–35 hours per week) is ideal for educators who are passionate about helping elementary students with exceptional needs thrive in school and in life.
In this year-round role starting July 2026 and running through August 2027, you will work one-on-one with a joyful, non-verbal student with Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI). Drawing on your expertise, you’ll deliver California CTC Core standard-aligned lessons—adapting content for sensory, visual, and communication needs. Instruction runs 8:00 am–1:00 pm, followed by documentation and team collaboration until approximately 2:30/3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All work is conducted at a supportive school site; no home-based teaching required.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credential (California highly preferred)
- Direct experience teaching students with significant support needs, ideally non-verbal and/or with CVI
- Familiarity with adapted, sensory-informed, visually adapted curriculum; strong bonus if you know Unique-Learning-Systems (ULS)
- Ability to design project-based, hands-on learning experiences
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., SLP, TVI, AAC, OT, BCBA)
- Ability to nurture social-emotional growth, peer engagement, and inclusive communication
- Enthusiasm for creative problem solving, patient guidance, and celebrating milestones
