This contract position calls for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support learners through individualized instruction, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the creation of a nurturing classroom environment. Flexibility and adaptability are highly valued—experience with or preference for middle school grades is a plus.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current California Special Education Credential with Mild/Moderate Authorization (required)
  • Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Comfortable serving a varied caseload of K-12 students; middle school expertise preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to student needs, following IEPs
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records, supporting compliance and best practices
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, aides, and support staff
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom community that promotes growth for all learners
  • Engage with families regarding student achievements and areas of growth
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

This full-time (37.5 hours/week) contract role is based at a well-established K-12 day school dedicated to supporting students with individualized needs.
