Special Education Teacher in San Mateo, CA

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Resource Learning Center (RLC) Teacher at a vibrant Spanish immersion school serving K-5th grade students. This position is tailored for dedicated Special Education Teachers who are committed to making a positive impact in an inclusive setting. You’ll guide and support a diverse group of up to 28 students daily, helping them succeed academically and thrive socially. With a full-time schedule of 7.5 hours per day, you’ll have the chance to engage with students and staff in a collaborative, energetic environment from now until the end of the school year.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher credential
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-aged students (K-5)
• Ability to foster an inclusive learning atmosphere that supports a wide range of individual needs
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with colleagues, families, and specialists
• Adaptability and creativity, especially in a Spanish immersion environment (Spanish proficiency is advantageous but not required)
• Quick to build relationships and respond to the diverse needs of a school setting

Daily Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction and interventions, both in small groups and individually, to students in the Resource Learning Center
• Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement IEP goals
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies to help each child reach their potential
• Create a welcoming and structured space that encourages growth, belonging, and self-confidence
• Communicate regularly with families to support student success
