Job Description

We are partnering with a New Mexico school district to hire a Virtual Special Education Teacher | Remote Intervention Specialist for a full-time contract position. This online teaching opportunity is designed for an educator who is passionate about individualized instruction, student advocacy, and helping learners reach their academic goals through accessible virtual services.

The selected candidate will provide specialized instruction, support IEP implementation, and collaborate with district teams to create effective learning experiences for students with diverse educational needs. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while maintaining the connection and impact of a school-based role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual specially designed instruction aligned with student IEP goals.
  • Create individualized lesson plans and adapt curriculum materials.
  • Support academic, behavioral, and functional learning objectives.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain detailed educational records.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff.
  • Participate in virtual IEP meetings and student planning sessions.
  • Use digital learning tools to create engaging online instruction.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to build relationships with students in a virtual classroom.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using educational technology platforms.
  • Ability to adjust teaching methods based on individual student needs.

Qualifications

  • New Mexico Special Education teaching license or eligibility.
  • Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance.
  • Experience providing individualized instruction.
  • Ability to manage a virtual classroom environment.

Experience

  • Previous special education teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting students with learning differences, developmental disabilities, or behavioral needs desired.
  • Virtual teaching experience is beneficial.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related educational field.

Work Hours

8:00 AM – 3:30 PM Mountain Time
37.5 hours per week
