Make a meaningful difference in the lives of neurodiverse young learners in a nurturing K-8 environment as a dedicated special education teacher. In this contract role, you’ll work closely with a small caseload (less than 10 students), ensuring that each child receives the individualized support and instruction they need for a successful academic journey.

Skills and Background:

  • Valid LBS1 certification paired with Early Childhood credentials (required)
  • Experience working with neurodiverse children in grades K-8
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with families and support staff
  • Compassion, adaptability, and a student-focused mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to your caseload of neurodiverse students, promoting their academic and social-emotional growth
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and aides to provide holistic support
  • Guide classroom assistants and facilitate a positive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and all required documentation
  • Attend professional development and training from 8/13 to 8/17 to prepare for the academic year. Student instruction begins 8/18.
