Grades 6 - 8 Grades 9 - 12 Special Ed Teacher | Sayre, Pennsylvania

A school in Sayre, PA is seeking a certified Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in grades 7 and 8 within an emotional support classroom. This contract position is available ASAP through June 5, 2026, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique emotional and academic needs of each student in your caseload
• Providing instruction and support for a current caseload of 13 students, with the potential to increase to 20 as additional needs arise
• Collaborating with other educators, therapists, and support staff to create a nurturing and structured learning environment
• Monitoring and documenting student progress and communicating effectively with parents and guardians
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere that encourages social and academic growth

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Valid certification to teach Special Education
• Experience working with middle school students, particularly grades 6-8
• Familiarity with emotional support strategies and behavioral interventions
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage caseloads effectively
