Grades K - 5 Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher in Sayre, PA

Make a difference every day by supporting the growth and development of middle school students in an Emotional Support classroom. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and continues through early June 2026. You'll work with a dedicated group of 7th and 8th graders, providing specialized instruction in an environment that celebrates progress and resilience.

Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule from 7:30am to 3:10pm, Monday through Friday. Your expertise will help guide a classroom currently serving 13 students, with the potential for the caseload to increase up to 20.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with students in grades 6-8 (additional experience in K-5 or 9-12 welcome)
• Knowledge of emotional and behavioral support strategies
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and related service providers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Support social and emotional development, providing a safe and positive classroom environment
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure each student has the resources they need
• Monitor progress, maintain records, and regularly communicate with families
