This contract role offers the opportunity to guide and support a caseload starting at 13 students, with the potential to expand to 20, in a learning environment where your expertise, structure, and consistency will help shape student success.
Your role will focus on establishing positive, predictable routines and using positive reinforcement to engage students. You’ll collaborate with dedicated staff members, contributing to a supportive and inclusive culture.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Pennsylvania Special Education teacher certification (Instructional I or II).
- Ability to secure full PA licensure before the start date; emergency or out-of-state certifications are not accepted.
- Previous experience with middle school populations preferred, especially those requiring emotional and behavioral support.
- Demonstrated ability to create structured yet flexible classroom environments.
- Strong track record of managing diverse caseloads and adapting strategies to meet individual student needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to emotional support students in grades 7 and 8.
- Foster a safe, predictable classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and resilience.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to promote appropriate behaviors and academic growth.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to maximize student achievement.
- Complete ongoing documentation, progress monitoring, and communication per school guidelines.
