From August 17, 2026, through June 22, 2027, you’ll collaborate on a shared caseload of approximately 13 students, crafting meaningful learning opportunities and fostering student success within a supportive contract setting near Schenectady, NY.
Your expertise will help students reach their full potential as you design and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and work closely with service providers. Your Qualifications:
- Hold a valid New York State Educator License with a Special Education Endorsement
- At least two years of recent teaching experience in a special education setting (preferred)
- Proficient in writing and executing IEPs
- Collaborative, with experience working alongside general education and related services personnel
- Passionate about supporting middle school learners with diverse needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Co-teach Grade 8 English and Social Studies, integrating special education strategies within the classroom
- Develop, monitor, and adapt IEPs in partnership with staff and families
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual student strengths and areas for growth
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom culture
- Maintain consistent communication with families, teachers, and service providers
- Track student progress and document data as required
