What We’re Looking For:
- Current New York State certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities), or active progress toward NY licensure
- Open to candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree strongly preferred
- Recent graduates with a Master’s or those needing to transfer an out-of-state license are encouraged to apply; the school offers support throughout the process
- Proven experience drafting and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging families in the educational process
Your Contribution:
- Develop and deliver differentiated, evidence-based instruction for students in your assigned grade band (K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 5th-7th, or 8th-10th)
- Write and monitor IEPs, tracking progress and adjusting plans to maximize student success
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that celebrates diversity and nurtures strengths
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to implement behavioral and academic interventions
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about student progress
This role features a weekday schedule from 8:00am–3:30pm (including a daily 30-minute, unpaid break) at approximately 35 hours per week. Compensation ranges from $35–$47 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
