This full-time, contract opportunity is located near Schenectady, NY, with an immediate start available for the right candidate. Compensation for this role can reach up to $50 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification for K-12 or K-6
  • Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a school setting
  • Proficient in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with school staff and families
  • Adapt instructional materials and strategies to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date students’ records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Communicate progress and collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators
