Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students in a structured learning classroom setting. This role focuses on students in grades 1, 2, and 4, primarily working with children with Autism in a reversed inclusion model. Collaborate closely with general education teachers and dedicated paraprofessionals to provide targeted support, fostering growth and success throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education Teacher certification
  • Experience working with students with Autism or in self-contained/SLC settings
  • Knowledge of general education curricula and best practices supporting diverse learners
  • Strong collaboration abilities with general education staff and paraprofessionals
  • Excellent communication skills for working with staff, students, and families
  • Flexibility and patience in adapting to individual student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Support a caseload of up to 8 students, including those with higher needs who receive additional paraprofessional assistance
  • Serve as a resource to the general education teacher, helping adapt materials and strategies to students' unique learning, sensory, and behavioral needs
  • Manage pull-out sessions for sensory, behavioral, and academic support—working 1:1 as needed—before students return to the general education classroom
  • Work in partnership with two classroom paraprofessionals and other staff, providing leadership and expertise in special education practices
  • Monitor and document student progress, implementing IEP goals and collaborating with families
  • Maintain classroom organization and ensure a safe, supportive environment for all learners

This position offers a W-2 contract, weekly paychecks, and the opportunity to participate in a 401K plan.
