Step into an engaging contract assignment supporting students with diverse learning needs as an itinerant Special Education professional. This opportunity covers both Carbon and Lehigh Counties, with a central administrative hub in Schnecksville, PA, though daily assignments may vary within the region. You'll play a pivotal role by providing coverage wherever it's needed—filling in for short-term absences, taking on extended assignments, or stepping into IU classrooms as needed, ensuring continuity of education for a wide range of learners.

Desired qualifications:

  • Active Pennsylvania teaching license.
  • Valid PA PDE Certification (Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, Instructional I/II Certificate in appropriate Special Education subject areas).
  • Demonstrated experience working with students in special education environments.
  • Proven record participating in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within designated counties.
  • Commitment to in-person instruction; virtual/remote work is not offered.

Role responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in various school settings as assigned.
  • Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to meet students' learning objectives.
  • Utilize effective classroom management and differentiated instruction strategies.
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to documentation and progress monitoring.
  • Adapt quickly to new environments and schedules, ensuring students receive consistent, high-quality support.
