Full-Time Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and classroom support for students receiving special education services.
Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals and educational objectives.
Manage classroom routines and create a structured, supportive learning environment.
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Support students with varying academic, behavioral, communication, and developmental needs.
Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and progress monitoring.

Available Program Areas:

Autism Support (CCEA):

Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder using evidence-based instructional strategies.
Implement ABA-informed strategies, communication supports (AAC, visual supports, PECS), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and sensory regulation strategies.

Multiple Disabilities Support (LB Morris / Veterans Memorial):

Support students with significant support needs through adapted curriculum and individualized instruction.
Assist with communication, life skills development, and coordination of personal care supports.
Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers.

Emotional Support (ALAS):

Support students in emotional and behavioral support classrooms.
Implement behavior management strategies, crisis prevention techniques, and de-escalation practices.
Utilize trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation and student success.

Experience:

Previous classroom teaching experience in a special education setting is required.
Experience working with specialized populations such as Autism, Multiple Disabilities, or Emotional Support is preferred.
Strong classroom management skills and experience supporting diverse student needs are desired.

Education:

Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification required/preferred based on assignment.
