Special Ed Teacher | Scottsdale, Arizona

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher specializing in early childhood education within an elementary school setting in Scottsdale, AZ. This full-time contract role runs through the current school year until May 21, 2026. The position focuses on serving students with high needs, including those with autism, within a self-contained classroom environment capped at eight students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with significant special education needs, adhering to IEPs and best practices.
• Develop, implement, and facilitate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with collaborative input from team members and families.
• Lead and support paraprofessionals in implementing instructional and behavioral goals.
• Manage a half-day program with sessions from 7:30-10:30 AM and 11:30 AM-2:30 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with rotating Wednesday hours.
• Participate in approximately 79 Kindergarten transition IEP meetings starting in January.
• Utilize the STARS curriculum and apply effective behavior support strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Arizona Early Childhood Special Education (EC SPED) license.
• IVP Fingerprint Card.
• Extensive experience working with students with high needs, particularly those with autism.
• Strong skills in instructional planning, IEP development, and behavioral support.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both certified and non-certified team members, including paraprofessionals.
