Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Demonstrated experience working with students diagnosed with Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Background supporting grades 6-12 in a resource or inclusion setting
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, flexible approach
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Comfortable providing instruction and behavioral support within a psychiatric residential treatment facility
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in a resource classroom to students in grades 6-12
- Manage a caseload of approximately 15 students, with the ability to group students to meet their educational and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with additional adult support staff, maintaining a 1 teacher + 1 adult per 4 students ratio for safety and learning
- Work closely with school leadership and clinical teams to support students’ progress toward reintegration into traditional school settings
- Maintain clear and consistent documentation, communication, and progress monitoring for all students on the caseload
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment where every student can work towards their academic and behavioral goals
