Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting young learners ages 3-5. This contract position offers the opportunity to work directly with children with a range of disabilities in an early childhood setting for the upcoming school year through June 12th, 2027. The position is located near Seaford, DE, and offers flexibility with both full-time or part-time scheduling options, depending on your availability.
The ideal candidate has a strong passion for early intervention and a desire to foster growth in children at a pivotal stage. Your expertise will be vital in managing a caseload that typically consists of around 10 students, adapting to their unique needs, and working collaboratively with families and school staff.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Early Childhood Special Education certification for the state of Delaware is required
- Experience working with children ages 3-5 with diverse disabilities
- Strong background or demonstrated interest in early childhood special education
- Skilled in implementing strategies for students who exhibit negative or challenging behaviors
- Positive communicator who enjoys collaborating with other educators and families
- Adaptable, organized, and ready to meet students where they are
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each child on your caseload
- Address a variety of disabilities with sensitivity and effective interventions
- Create a safe, enriching, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with families and team members
- Apply behavioral interventions as needed while maintaining a supportive atmosphere
