What we're looking for:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience delivering individualized instruction to high school students
- Strong understanding of IEP process and implementation
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learning needs
- Positive, solution-focused attitude and organizational skills
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff
- Differentiate instruction to ensure academic progress in a classroom of varied abilities
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Track and document student progress, providing feedback and updates to families
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support student engagement and growth
