Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Experience teaching middle grade students in special education settings
  • Knowledge of therapeutic education techniques and behavior intervention strategies

  • Dedication to fostering inclusive and positive classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction and support to meet students’ unique learning and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with colleagues and families
  • Foster a therapeutic classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to nurture social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Work proactively with support staff, counselors, and administrators to maximize student success
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed
  • Participate in professional development opportunities focused on therapeutic education and best practices
