This full-time, contract role offers the chance to support student growth as a Special Education Teacher across two unique caseloads: one serving 3rd-8th graders, and another working with K-2nd grade students in extended resource self-contained classrooms.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid 461 Special Education License (required)
- Gifted Endorsement preferred
- Experience in resource and/or self-contained special education settings
- Deep understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and ability to adapt lessons to diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s unique strengths and challenges
- Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support within a self-contained environment
- Regularly assess student progress, document outcomes, and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to promote student success
- Support students in building academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills vital for lifelong learning
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education
