Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-specific)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive classroom culture

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt curriculum and lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Provide direct instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
  • Monitor and report student progress, maintaining thorough documentation
  • Foster an environment that promotes social and emotional development
  • Comply with district, state, and federal guidelines for special education
