Multiple full-time contract positions are available for passionate professionals dedicated to fostering growth and positive outcomes for students with autism or therapeutic needs.
Opportunities include an elementary K-5 autism-focused class (up to 6 students), as well as therapeutic self-contained classrooms at the middle school (grades 6-8, up to 10 students) and high school (grades 9-12, up to 12 students) levels. These settings offer a supportive and collaborative environment where your expertise will directly influence students’ academic and emotional development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working in self-contained programs
- Demonstrated ability to support students with autism or significant behavioral/therapeutic needs
- Specific background working with children affected by trauma, especially for therapeutic classroom roles
- Compassion, adaptability, and a strengths-based approach to teaching
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including related service providers, administrators, and families
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports social-emotional learning
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records
- Provide ongoing support and guidance addressing both academic and behavioral challenges
