Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Vermont Special Education Teacher certification is preferred; candidates with pending certification are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience teaching or working with middle school-aged students, particularly those with unique educational needs.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet each student’s strengths and challenges.

Responsibilities:
- Instruct and manage a self-contained classroom for students in grades 6-8.
- Develop, adapt, and deliver lesson plans tailored to individual student goals and needs.
- Create a safe and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to implement IEPs and ensure student success.
- Track and report on student progress, maintaining clear and accurate records.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development to remain current with best practices in special education.
