Special Education Teacher - Shakopee, MN

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with dedicated center-based programs. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support students with unique learning needs, primarily those with Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a collaborative school setting near Shakopee, MN.

You’ll work in supportive environments at two elementary schools: one focused on students with EBD, and another serving students with ASD who have significant communication needs and follow the Unique Learning Systems curriculum. Your expertise will help foster growth, engagement, and independence for students requiring tailored interventions.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching license, or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience or strong interest in working with center-based programs
• Knowledge of EBD and ASD teaching strategies and best practices
• Familiarity with alternative or adaptive curricula; experience with Unique Learning Systems is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
• Deliver differentiated instruction and behavioral interventions aligned with students’ needs
• Foster meaningful communication, social, and academic growth for students

• Monitor progress, collect data, and adjust instructional approaches
