Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Strong understanding of learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and differentiated instruction
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptable approach and ability to engage students in meaningful, creative ways
- Familiarity with modern educational technology
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instructional strategies, interventions, and lesson plans for students with special needs
- Conduct assessments and use collected data to inform instruction and measure progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and administrators to ensure coordinated student support
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes equity, respect, and positive behavior
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, attendance, and required compliance reports
- Carry out regular communication with caregivers, providing updates and celebrating successes
- Participate in school or district professional development sessions and contribute insights at team meetings
