This contract opportunity supports students in grades K–6, offering both Emotional Support and Learning Support in a dynamic, floating classroom setting. You'll work closely with colleagues and families to help each child reach their potential, while honing your own professional expertise.
The position runs through June 2027, with an immediate start and a weekly commitment of 35-40 hours. You'll work within a supportive environment where your knowledge is valued, and creativity is encouraged.
What you'll need to bring:
- Valid Instructional I or II Certificate in K-12 Special Education for Pennsylvania is strongly preferred
- Emergency certification considered for those with at least 2 years of experience, currently enrolled in a certification program or scheduled to take the Praxis
- Demonstrated experience in case management and IEP development/writing
- Familiarity with providing both emotional support and learning support in either elementary or middle school settings
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to float between grade levels (K–6) as needed
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
Key responsibilities you'll embrace:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) ensuring compliance and student success
- Deliver specialized instruction to support students with emotional and learning needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
- Use data-driven strategies to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Support transitions between grade levels as part of your floating responsibilities
- Foster student engagement, self-advocacy, and social-emotional development
Compensation ranges from $39 to $55 per hour, reflecting your experience and commitment.
