Positions are open in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, as well as in alternative programs that support students with severe behaviors. These roles require a valid Kansas teaching license in Special Education appropriate for your grade level of interest. Licensure must be active at the time of placement and is mandatory for consideration.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Kansas Special Education teaching license for your preferred instructional level
- Experience teaching students with autism, significant behavioral challenges, or life skills needs strongly preferred
- Proven commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
- Strong collaboration, communication, and adaptability skills
- Ability to implement and adapt IEPs for diverse learners
Your day-to-day will include:
- Providing direct instruction in life skills, behavioral, or autism-focused classrooms
- Developing and executing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Creating positive, accessible, and engaging classroom communities
- Collaborating with support staff, administrators, and families for holistic student support
- Monitoring progress and documenting student achievement toward IEP goals
