Exciting opportunities are available for experienced Special Education Teachers to make a real impact in elementary school settings near Shawnee, KS. With three positions open, you’ll work in a full-time capacity supporting students in a dedicated LIFT Program, providing tailored instruction and fostering a positive learning environment. Your classroom will consist of a manageable caseload of eight students, allowing for individualized attention and meaningful connections.

Key Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must hold an active Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License
  • Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
  • Knowledge of best practices for teaching elementary-aged children with special needs
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet different learning abilities
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills for working with staff, students, and families
  • Committed to maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
  • Deliver instruction focusing on the unique needs of each learner within the LIFT Program
  • Employ data-driven strategies to measure and support student growth
  • Communicate consistently with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary school teams
  • Establish a positive classroom routine promoting social, emotional, and academic development for all students
