High School Special Education Teacher - Shawnee, KS

Ideal candidates will have:

• Valid KS low-incidence SPED licensure, appropriate for grades 6-12
• Experience working with high school students in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Ability to implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Dedication to building positive relationships with students, families, and staff

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering personalized instruction tailored to a range of learning and behavioral needs
• Creating, reviewing, and updating IEPs to meet student goals and regulatory requirements
• Assessing student progress and adjusting strategies for optimal development
• Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and general education teachers
• Advocating for students’ needs while maintaining strong family engagement
