Special Education Teacher - Shelbyville, TN

Qualifications and Experience

• Active Tennessee Educator License obtained via TNCompass (Practitioner or Professional tier accepted)
• At least one of the following TDOE Special Education endorsements:
  • Special Education Interventionist (K-8)
  • Special Education Interventionist (6-12)
  • Special Education Comprehensive (K-12)
  • Special Education Early Childhood (Pre-K-3)
• Strong background in supporting students with mild-to-moderate or complex needs
• Willingness to follow a structured schedule and deliver precise service minutes
• Experience or interest in facilitating Braille instruction is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support according to IEP service minutes, without case-managing
• Collaborate closely with teaching teams, related service providers, and families
• Offer differentiated support for a varied caseload, adapting to each learner’s unique needs
