Qualifications and Experience:

• Active 461 Tennessee Special Education teaching license (required)
• Previous experience in a K-2nd grade or elementary school environment preferred
• Expertise in creating and implementing IEPs for young learners
• Strong understanding of early child development and instructional strategies tailored for diverse abilities
• Effective classroom management and communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to collaborate within a team to support student success

Role Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction in a self-contained K-2nd grade classroom
• Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in accordance with state and federal requirements
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to align with learner needs
• Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with classroom assistants, related service providers, and fellow educators to facilitate student development
• Establish open communication with families and caregivers to involve them in their child’s education and progress
