Special Education Teacher - Shiner, TX

This opportunity centers around working with diverse learners in a variety of settings, including a Life Skills classroom for grades 3–5, ECSE classes for younger children (age 3–Pre-K), Functional Academics (K–5), and providing inclusive or resource support for grades 3–5. Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (Texas or eligibility for reciprocity)
• Experience or strong interest in working with children across a range of disabilities and learning profiles
• Familiarity with Life Skills, Functional Academics, ECSE, and inclusion/resource instructional strategies
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including general education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs
• Teach and support students in Life Skills, Functional Academics, and ECSE classrooms, as well as within inclusion/resource settings
• Monitor academic and behavioral progress, utilizing data to inform instructional decisions
• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure consistency and success
• Create and maintain effective classroom routines and a safe, welcoming space
• Adapt curriculum and materials for differentiated instruction
• Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with state and federal guidelines
