This full-time contract opportunity begins August 31st and continues through June 23rd, at an intermediate school located near Siasconset, MA. Collaborate with a dedicated educational team to deliver impactful instruction and individualized support to students in special education programs.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Current certification as a Special Education Teacher for grades 3-5
  • Experience working with elementary and intermediate school-aged students in a special education setting
  • Familiarity with a range of disabilities and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with colleagues, students, and families
  • Certification in Orton-Gillingham is highly preferred and will be a valued asset

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide differentiated instruction to students with special needs in accordance with IEP goals
  • Adapt classroom materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles
  • Assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school counselors, and related service providers
  • Engage with parents and caregivers, ensuring ongoing communication and team support
  • Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence
