Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ growth and achievement as a Special Education Teacher for grades 3-5. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 31st and continues through June 23rd, at an intermediate school located near Siasconset, MA. Collaborate with a dedicated educational team to deliver impactful instruction and individualized support to students in special education programs.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher for grades 3-5
- Experience working with elementary and intermediate school-aged students in a special education setting
- Familiarity with a range of disabilities and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with colleagues, students, and families
- Certification in Orton-Gillingham is highly preferred and will be a valued asset
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide differentiated instruction to students with special needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Adapt classroom materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles
- Assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school counselors, and related service providers
- Engage with parents and caregivers, ensuring ongoing communication and team support
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence
