Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their educational journeys as a Special Education Teacher servicing middle or high school grades. This full-time contract opportunity is located near Silt, Colorado, offering a chance to work onsite in a collaborative and resourceful environment for the 2026–2027 school year.
Two positions are available, each providing focused services to approximately 25–30 students with mild to moderate needs. Whether your passion is guiding adolescents in grades 6–8 or supporting those in high school (grades 9–12), you’ll have the chance to foster learning and growth throughout the academic year.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Current, active Colorado Teaching License
- Special Education (SPED) Endorsement required
- Experience or strong comfort working with mild to moderate special needs populations
- Willingness to assist with toileting needs if required
- Ability to create supportive, inclusive learning environments
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Adapt coursework and instructional strategies for student success
- Track progress and maintain documentation in compliance with state and federal policies
- Communicate regularly with families and guardians regarding student progress
- Address students’ behavioral and support needs with empathy and professionalism
