Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid credentials and certification for special education instruction
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher (SPED experience preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other educators, specialists, and families
- Understanding of academic and behavioral interventions specific to students with autism
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability in dynamic classroom settings
- Willingness to assist with personal care tasks, including occasional toileting support for students
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student
- Utilize diverse instructional strategies to foster both academic progress and social growth
- Maintain comprehensive records of student goals, progress, and behavioral observations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development and milestones
- Support students' independence, positive behaviors, and self-advocacy skills
- Assist students as needed with daily routines, which may include toileting or other personal care
