Take your expertise in special education to the next level by supporting middle school students in a dynamic and inclusive environment. This full-time contract position focuses on teaching math to students in grades 6 through 8 within a specialized program designed for learners with a range of autism spectrum and learning disabilities. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm, with the added benefit of year-round, 12-month compensation for stability and planning.

Compensation falls within a salary range of $62,000 to $85,000 annually and is based on both prior experience and educational background.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Maryland Special Education Certification for grades 6–12 (or eligibility if already math certified)
  • Maryland Math Certification for minimum grades 6–12
  • Experience working with middle school students with autism spectrum disorders and varying learning abilities strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction techniques
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging math instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of students in grades 6–8
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate that encourages student engagement and confidence in math
  • Monitor student progress, adapting instructional strategies as needed to support individual achievement
  • Maintain regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings, team planning, and professional development
