Grades 6 - 8 Supervisor Special Education Teacher in Silver Spring, MD

Take on a key leadership role supporting students, staff, and families as an interim Education Director for grades K-8. This contract position is available immediately and offers a meaningful opportunity to directly impact educational programs while working closely with administration in a collaborative environment.

In this position, you’ll oversee and supervise instructional teams, manage the development and implementation of IEPs, coordinate student schedules, and ensure compliance with MSDE requirements. You’ll be a resource for educators and an advocate for students, impacting learning outcomes across both lower and middle school grades.

Qualifications:

• Maryland Special Education Certification for K-12 required.
• Preference for those with MD Vice Principal or SPED Supervisor Certification.
• Experience supporting and supervising special education instructional teams.
• Strong knowledge of IEP implementation and MSDE compliance.
• Proven ability to build schedules and coordinate educational programs for grades K-8.
• Effective communicator, able to support and collaborate with staff, students, and families.
• Leadership experience in educational settings is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Lower/Middle School Directors to develop and supervise educational programs.
• Oversee IEP implementation and ensure programs meet state guidelines.
• Supervise instructional teams and provide professional guidance.
• Develop and manage student schedules.
• Serve as a primary support to students, staff, and families.
• Maintain compliance with MSDE requirements.
