An educational opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support diverse learners in a school setting located in Silver Spring, MD. This role involves working collaboratively with students, families, and educational staff to create inclusive learning environments tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the needs of students with various learning challenges
- Monitor and document student progress, providing regular feedback to families and educational teams
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate students effectively
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices
- Provide support during school-related travel as required
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/licensure
- Experience working with students with disabilities in school settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, techniques, and assistive technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed
