This position offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting, focusing on students with mild to moderate or moderate to severe disabilities. The role specifically supports primary and emotional disabilities within a Nexus Program, serving students in grades 2 through 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to a small group of 2 to 8 students, with a maximum classroom size of 10.
- Collaborate closely with three paraeducators to deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) and facilitate inclusive learning.
- Address the needs of students with primary and emotional disabilities in a supportive, structured environment.
- Develop lesson plans and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and school staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid credential or certification in Special Education.
- Experience teaching students with mild/moderate to moderate/severe disabilities.
- Background in supporting primary and emotional disabilities preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, including paraeducators.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
