Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching credential appropriate for California
  • Experience with moderate to severe disabilities, preferably in a self-contained setting
  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and data collection
  • Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
  • Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills
  • Adaptability and a collaborative spirit to work closely with related service providers and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student in the class
  • Develop and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance and student-centered goals
  • Cultivate a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff to deliver targeted interventions
  • Communicate progress and strategies with families, colleagues, and educational teams
  • Advocate for students and promote their participation in all aspects of school life
