Special Education Teacher | Sonora, California

We have an exciting opening serving middle school students in a self-contained moderate to severe Special Day Class setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is full-time, offering 37.5 hours per week in a supportive environment where your expertise and compassion will make a real difference.

As a valued Special Education Teacher, you will work with a dedicated team to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student. Your specialized skills will support academic and social development, ensuring that each learner receives the attention and adaptive strategies they need to thrive.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching credential.
• Previous experience with moderate to severe disabilities in a self-contained classroom preferred.
• Strong skills in IEP development and case management.
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for students with significant needs.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Comfortable working with middle school-aged students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction tailored to individual goals and accommodations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior plans, and supportive interventions.
• Maintain thorough documentation and consistent communication with stakeholders.
