Four contract-to-hire opportunities are available, supporting either two middle schools or two elementary schools located near South Bend, IN. This role centers on inclusive special education services, primarily delivered through push-in models, and offers the chance to work with diverse caseloads encompassing all disability categories.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Indiana Special Education teaching license required
- Experience or strong interest in working with K-12 students
- Skillful in adapting instruction and collaborating with general education staff
- Ready to support students with mild to moderate and moderate to severe disabilities
- Strong communication abilities with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to work across middle or elementary schools as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive special education services via primarily push-in support
- Modify curriculum and instructional approaches to meet individual needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to create accessible classroom environments
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in case conferences
- Establish positive rapport with students and support self-advocacy and independence
- Participate in professional development designed to enhance inclusive practices
