Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Vermont Special Educator license, or eligibility for VT licensure transfer.
- Experience teaching or supporting high school students in special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to high school students with diverse learning profiles.
- Design and adjust lesson plans to meet identified IEP goals while aligning with state and district standards.
- Coordinate regularly with faculty, school staff, and parents/guardians to support student success and ensure compliance.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records, reports, and data.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies and classroom supports.
- Participate in eligibility, evaluation, and annual review meetings.
- Provide consultation, resources, and advocacy for students and families.
