Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification/licensure (or eligibility) in Vermont
- Experience in a K-12 school setting, preferably with diverse student populations
- Thorough understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation
- Familiarity with current best practices in special education, accommodations, and modifications
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability to meet challenges as they arise
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction to students with varying academic, emotional, and developmental needs
- Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and growth areas
- Assess student progress, document results, and adjust teaching approaches based on data
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure effective inclusion and support for all learners
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters student growth and engagement
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development opportunities
