Special Education Teacher | South Holland, Illinois

Make a meaningful difference each day as a part-time Bilingual Special Education Teacher, working with students in grades 4-5. This contract opportunity focuses on supporting learners who benefit from specialized education in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. You’ll have a consistent morning schedule, working from 8:09 to 11:30 AM every weekday, allowing for a healthy work-life balance and time for other pursuits or commitments in your day.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (State appropriate)
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in grades 4 or 5
• Deep understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ability to differentiate instruction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic school setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to a diverse group of learners with varying abilities
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with other educators and families
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Provide a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Foster a culture of respect and encouragement for bilingual learners
