Special Education Teacher | South Paris, Maine

With two contract positions available, you’ll collaborate with dedicated colleagues in an in-person setting near South Paris, ME, providing essential services to students who benefit from extra support during the summer months.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Special Education Teacher license for the state of Maine is required
• Prior experience working with high school students in a special education setting strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications for diverse learners
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
• Ability to provide engaging, individualized instruction and manage challenging behaviors positively

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver in-person instruction to high school students enrolled in the ESY program
• Collaborate with other educators and related service providers to implement IEP goals
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Participate in planning and team meetings as required

This role offers a consistent Monday–Thursday schedule, 8:00am–12:00pm, allowing you to make a difference each morning while still enjoying your summer afternoons.
