An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative middle school environment while supporting students through both Specially Designed Academic Instruction (SAI) and Resource Specialist Program (RSP) services.

There is an ongoing need for qualified teachers with credentials in Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe), and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE). With numerous vacancies expected for the upcoming school year, there are opportunities for educators with a range of experience and credential backgrounds.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid California Mild/Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced coursework and graduate degrees are valued.
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Ability to provide differentiated instruction and support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in middle school settings is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach 6th-grade Specially Designed Academic Instruction (SAI) in English Language Arts and Writing.
  • Provide Resource Specialist Program (RSP) services for one class period.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with student needs and curriculum standards.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

Compensation:
Compensation for this position ranges from $33.34 to $53.34 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and assignment.
