With no current SPED teacher at the school for the past three years, your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the school’s special education program and providing much-needed support to students and staff alike. Qualifications:
- Valid Educator Certification in Special Education (must provide proof of licensure)
- Prior experience in a self-contained SPED classroom, preferably with K–5 students
- Comfortable assisting students with toileting and personal care needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administration, and families
- Strong organizational skills to manage diverse caseloads
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for a caseload of approximately 10 students (caseload divided between two SPED teachers)
- Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet the varying needs and abilities of each student
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with families
- Provide support with personal care activities as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school events
This on-site, full-time role follows a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:45am–3:15pm, through May 2027. The school is eager to welcome compassionate professionals who are passionate about enriching the lives of young learners.
