Make an incredible difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Resource Teacher working with Pre-K through 2nd grade students. This position offers the chance to join an elementary environment known for its supportive staff and focus on meeting the diverse needs of all children. You’ll primarily serve students with autism, delivering instruction both in the classroom (push-in) and in a resource setting (pull-out). The role is entirely on-site and travel candidates are encouraged to apply.

Your responsibilities will center around providing tailored instruction and interventions, collaborating with classroom teachers, and helping to shape Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that drive real progress for each child. With a manageable caseload of around 20 students, your expertise and dedication will be valued and supported.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Educator Certification—must be presented during the interview process
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in resource or inclusion settings
  • Strong background working with students on the autism spectrum, ideally in early childhood or lower elementary grades
  • Knowledge of both push-in and pull-out instructional models
  • Familiarity with creating and implementing IEPs
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with colleagues and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated instruction to K-2 students, both individually and in small groups
  • Develop, review, and update IEPs in close coordination with the school team
  • Monitor and document student progress
  • Participate in regular meetings and professional development sessions
  • Provide consultative support for general education teachers

This is a full-time, contract role—35 hours per week, 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., with the school year running from ASAP through May 2027. Enjoy working in an inviting community that appreciates the unique skills travel educators bring.
