Special Ed Teacher | Spartanburg, South Carolina

This opportunity is for two full-time Special Education Teachers to support high school Employability Classes for grades 9-12. Both positions involve working closely with classroom aids and include scheduled planning periods. The roles are based in Greenville, SC, with a contract duration through May 22nd, 2025.

Location: Greenville, SC
School Level: High School
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)
Work Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction tailored to students in Employability Classes (grades 9-12)
• Supervise students during school hours
• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet learning objectives
• Enter grades and maintain accurate records
• Ensure compliance with special education regulations by writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and conducting IEP meetings
• Collaborate effectively with classroom aides and other staff members

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina Educator Certification with endorsement or specialty in Multi-categorical Special Education or Intellectual Disabilities (ID)
• Experience working with special education students in a high school setting is preferred
• Strong skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and adherence to compliance standards
