Special Education Teacher - Spicewood, Texas

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Demonstrated experience as a case manager for students in special education.
• Proficient in IEP development and compliance, with working knowledge of Frontline or similar software.
• SAMA (restraint) training required or willingness to obtain district-specific certification.
• Experience delivering instruction and behavioral support in a life-skills classroom for elementary-aged children.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and external professionals.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and track progress of IEPs for a caseload of students.
• Deliver individualized instruction to meet academic, social, and life-skills goals.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals—especially during dismissal duty to ensure students’ safety.
• Monitor classroom and student safety with adherence to SAMA protocols.
• Communicate regularly with families and the wider instructional team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and federal requirements.
