Special Education Teacher | Spring Grove, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with an engaged PreK blended classroom of 3-5 year olds. This contract opportunity places you in a collaborative, supportive environment alongside a general education teacher and paraprofessionals to facilitate inclusive learning for young learners.

You’ll provide specialized instruction, create individualized education programs (IEPs), and work with a dedicated team to nurture student growth on both academic and social-emotional levels. With a manageable class size (no more than 18 students) and established support in the classroom, you can truly focus on student needs and best practices.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for early childhood, or eligibility for certification
• Experience working with PreK children or blended early childhood settings preferred
• Strong skills with IEP development and implementation
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively with general education staff and paraprofessionals
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for inclusive education

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction and interventions based on IEP goals
• Adapt curriculum and materials for diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with the general education teacher and classroom aides to support all students
• Foster a positive, engaging classroom environment to encourage growth and curiosity
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding student progress
• Engage regularly with families and team members to ensure integrated support

The contract schedule runs from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on school days, allowing for work-life balance while making a positive difference in students’ lives.
